My ideas for single star leaderboards:

Example for a few secret stars:

- Times and names are obviously random, just for the sake of the example
- The number X in [+X] is the star used on the 100 coin route
- Stage RTA is the sum of 5 individual stars + the one used in the 100 coin route (varies per player), NOT a completion of all stars in a row, that would be silly
- I added a few more full game runs categories. The only one that matters will always be 120, so why the hell not lol. Added rankings for a "Any%" general so there isn't this idiot segregation between 0 and 1 star (and there's no reason why a 16 star time wouldn't compete with both in a general any% ranking, although they would be realistically crushed anyway)
- The main flaw of the IL times is the inconsistency in star menu selection / cap availability / opening cannons / sparkling TJ, but yeah it's not like it would work exactly like in RTA...
- 115 because of not including bunny and toad stars
- I know people are gonna say stuff like "oh but THIS star time is irrelevant" (like doing the big house star in RR alone or having rankings for the two separate slide stars). I'm making the IL example acoording to the game data, not my arbitrary judgment. (except for not including bowser throws... bowser throws are dumb)
- A "point system" could be made competing with the Stage RTA rankings and secret stars (probably not including bowser no reds, because there's no star in it, but that's more of a judgment call)
- A individual All Coins star could be added to. The possibilities are endless, you just have to use your imagination!

I'm currently in the process of importing all the old times onto the new leaderboards, it shouldn't take more than a couple days to get everything brought over now that I've finished the main framework

I think it is a bit confusing how there are currently the beta leadberboards up and the old ones, since the old ones have some times that are not on the beta ones, and the beta ones have new times that didn't exist during the old system. :/

If you got a time and video proof then by all means post it on the leaderboards, you can submit your own time

What about a reputation system (still with stars) so you won't be rewarded for shitposting? That way your points are determined by the quality of your posts / threads, not the quantity. Just an idea / consideration

After seeing MarioRuns take its first few steps, I've gathered a few ideas to hopefully aid site function and activity.

But first off, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who advertises the website and forums. We received 25,000 hits in just 2 weeks and it honestly could not have been possible without all your contributions!

With your great work aside, I've received a lot of messages from people who are wondering if they can stream a different game after having their stream featured on the front page. I'd like to firstly address that this is fine in the time being. I plan on coding a simple module which filters those who aren't streaming SM64 and featuring only those who are playing the game. [done]

Secondly, the streams section is scheduled for a redesign. I'm not really happy with the design of the thumbnails (I did it all with raw code), it looks pretty sour to me. Also I'm not entirely sure whether automatically playing a random stream when the user enters the site is a good idea. It can be annoying. Any ideas on this would be appreciated, though. [done]

As for the leaderboards, everything seems to be okay. Those who enable email updates, I hope they're working for you. Also, the guides/resources page is due for a redesign, the pages seem a little bland. [done]

That's everything on my mind anyway, I want to make MarioRuns as competitive, as entertaining and as social as it can possibly be. If you have any more suggestions or ideas, don't hesitate to contact me. Who knows what else the future holds. As always though, I appreciate everyone's support, you're all amazing.

But yeah, back to Mareo.
