I have Wii U but I can't find SM64 in the Nintendo shop. Can it even be done?

No N64 VC has been released on Wii U yet
*I guess you could do something sneaky like use the Wii channel and use some sort of Wii emulator and play it through there, I don't know anything about this tho, just speculating.

Wii menu doesn't open without a classical Wii controller?

Wii menu doesn't open without a classical Wii controller?
It does, but it does not always work, hah. It's kind of hit or miss. It works for me most of the time. Just use the wii mote and sensor if you can't get it to work. I run SM64 ONLY on my WiiU atm. If you didn't own the game on Wii to transfer over, just switch into Wii mode inside your WiiU and then purchase it from the Wifi Store for $10.00USD. It will let you play on Gamepad also, but you have to use classic controller (can't use gamepad buttons)
This is the only way I play SM64 for recording/streaming. I still play it on N64 off and on also.

Yeah because I don't have a way to record from my N64. It's hooked up in my bedroom, my VC setup is in the livingroom also, which is where I game at. That's the only reason. lol

OK, this is going to sound crazy, but let's give it a go:
How about you pick up your N64, and, you know, unplug it (but bring the plugs!), and then bring it into the LIVING ROOM.
:O
Life is what happens while you're busy playing mario.

Haha thanks man. Nah the issue is that I don't have a way to record from it. My capture card like others only supports component and hdmi. Soon though!
